Hepzibah and Beulah

Pierre Aglow has been involved in a prayer initiative in the past year, covering the state of South Dakota and our nation with prayers of repentance and healing. This is one of the promises we have been praying:

     “No more will anyone call you Rejected, and your country will no more be called
     Ruined. You'll be called Hephzibah (My Delight), and your land Beulah (Married).”
      – Isaiah 62:4 (The Message)

This promise is about the land being fruitful, and able to support us and our families. Many of us have family members who really wanted to live in South Dakota but weren’t able to make a living for their family here. As we prayed onsite over towns in our area, we could almost visualize the multitudes of sons and daughterse who should be there, but who are living and working and bringing creativity and abundance to other parts of the country.

I have first-hand experience with this exodus: one brother and his family left South Dakota unwillingly to make a home near San Antonio, TX.  They have done very well in Texas, but they really wanted to stay here. I also have a sister who lived in Albuquerque before moving to Texas. She did not have the same tie to our state, but she would have stayed here if the economic potential had been better.

After having claimed this promise for long months, we believe that we are beginning to see the fulfillment of this promise.  Young people we know - the 'ernest' of the promise - are returning and taking their place to fulfill their calling in South Dakota. It’s an exciting time – we invite you to pray this promise and watch with us for the fulfillment!

Meeting in Homes - What a (Biblical) Concept!

Pierre Aglow hosted a local 'home meeting' on March 24, to make sure we got the most from Nancy Bartel and Sharon Owen in addition to their weekend of ministry at the prison. Every time we host a home meeting, we are sold again on them again. It was so fulfilling - wonderful attendance, worship, fellowship and ministry.

 Donna Chopper ministers to Nancy Bartel.

Altar Time

Ministry and worship at the close of the meeting.

We have sometimes been uncertain about hosting a home meeting, but were encouraged to read this the next day:

Chuck Pierce in “Time to Defeat the Devil”, p. 3-4, in the section ‘Believe That You Can and You Will’:

"…In this season we must rehearse the Word. What revelation has come to you? That is what you use to war in the world around you. We must meditate on what God says until the power of that revelation enters our bloodstream and cell structure.

We also must learn to worship and minister in our homes. Doing so will allow our gifts to be activated in a new way in small groups. When the time comes that we are not free to worship publicly in our church buildings, we will already know how to continue worshiping in our homes….”

Four Primary Laws... shared by Nancy Bartel from Staff & Bowls Ministry

The speaker at our March Aglow meetings, Nancy Bartel, shown here with her husband Wally, reminded us of what the Elijah House Ministry (http://www.elijahhouse.org/) calls the Four Primary Laws from Scripture. They consider these laws to be foundational in healing hearts and transforming lives through the truth that is found in Jesus Christ.  Scroll down to read the Four Primary Laws.

We hope to bring Nancy and Wally to Pierre again in 2012, although they won't be able to return to the prison again until 2013.

Sharon Owen accompanied Nancy on this journey and shared her testimony with us at the prison and at a home meeting on Saturday evening. Our cat Jasmine tried to make her welcome.

Colleen and Ivan Venner led us into worship on Saturday evening, and Nancy played her flute and guitar.

Four primary laws…

Elijah House Ministry

1.  Honor your father and mother…

As the Lord your God has commanded you, that your days may be prolonged, and that it may go well with you on the land which the Lord your God gives you.

Deut. 5:16

2.  Do not judge, lest you be judged yourselves.

For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it shall be measured to you. Matt. 7:1-2

3. Whatever a man sows, this he will also reap.

For the one who sows to his own flesh shall from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit shall from the Spirit reap eternal life. Galatians 6:7-8

4. For you who judge practice the same things.

Therefore you are without excuse, every man of you who passes judgment, for in that you judge another, you condemn yourself.

Romans 2:1

Nancy's call is that of helps to the Body of Christ, Her strongest service is that of intercessory prayer and deliverance. She has certificates with Elijah House Ministries in Spokane, WA. She operates in the prophetic and various forms of spiritual warfare as well. She has operated in her administrative gifting in the secular world as well as the Body of Christ for thirty plus years.

Growing up, Nancy was convinced she had nothing to offer anyone. Having been traumatized in her mothers’ womb, she grew up with many issues. Having come to the Lord in 1970, she has gone through years of healing and since 1986 began to minister when she came alongside Jim Sky Ministries at a storefront church on 9th and Robert Street in St. Paul, MN.

In 1996 she and her husband, Wally formed their own ministry; Staff and Bowls Ministries (named so for the wheat grains (from staves of wheat), ground to flour to be made into bread and broken, that others may eat)

Nancy has always had a love for the Native American people. She and her husband, Wally, had close First Nations friends/neighbors growing up. She has a brother who is half Native American. Nancy also is the oldest of five girls. Nancy grew up in a dysfunctional/alcoholism family and knows the struggles of becoming whole in Christ.

Wally and Nancy have traveled many times with Jim Sky to western regions of the US leading worship and ministering alongside the Sky's. Nancy also is the oldest of five girls. In 1996 she and Wally began visiting Native American reservations in western Wisconsin, and northern MN. Currently, they travel regularly to the Mole Lake/Pottawatomie Reservations, Lac Courte Oreilles reservations, and to the Red Lake and Leech Lake Reservations in particular, helping with what they can to encourage and help grow the Body of Christ there with teaching and worship gatherings. Wally plays guitar and Nancy [plays Native American flutes and guitar and electric autoharp. Nancy is currently facilitating Elijah House Schools and Bible Studies at the reservations as the Lord leads

Nancy and her team will minister at the SD Women's Prison on March 24 and 25 in addition to this special meeting.  Please invite your friends and join us on Saturday, March 24.

West River, SD, Aglow Spring Retreat March 24, 2012 in Rapid City

Shalu Shalom Yerushalayim (Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem)

The website Hebrew Word Meanings says, 'The common phrase shalu shalom yerushalayim (pray for the peace of Jerusalem) is not speaking about an absence of war (though that is part of it) but that Jerusalem (and by extension all of Israel) is complete and whole and goes far beyond the idea of "peace".' When our South Dakota State Capitol was dedicated in 1909 (and rededicated in 2009), Psalm 122 was declared. Psalm 122:6 says, "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee." Pierre Aglow joins with Aglow International and the state of South Dakota (and even our Capitol building) in declaring "wholeness and peace be found in you, Jerusalem".

Israel Stands for Peace is a great catchy song.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Aglow International was given the 'Israel Mandate' twelve years ago, which is to stand in loving support for Israel and the Jewish people. The following is from Jane Hansen Hoyt's March blog (Jane is Aglow's founder and international president).
"I believe that the year 2012 is a very significant year. The number 12 symbolizes divine accomplishment and governmental perfection. Twelve also implies structural beginning or foundation of organization. This is a year in which the government of God will arise in the earth in fullness through His people.
Aglow's 36s (12 x 3)
• This year marks Aglow's 36th year to have the name 'Aglow' registered.
• This year marks Aglow's 36th year since moving the headquarters office out of 2 houses into the school building due to growth.
• This year marks Aglow's 36th year to have a Covenant Partner program where people are willing to pay a small yearly fee to show their support of the ministry.
Aglow's 24s (12 x 2)
• This year marks Aglow's 24th year to be in a minimum of 91 nations of the world.
• This year marks Aglow's 24th year to have a minimum of 1,000 Lighthouses in the United States and a minimum of 800 (now nearly 3,000!) outside the U.S.
• This year marks Aglow's 24th year since sending out the first direct mail fundraiser to all its members.
Aglow's 12s
• This is Aglow's 12th trip into Israel to bless the land, to pray for the people, and to stand with the tender shoot of Messianic believers. We have pledged to sow into the land each month this year. The first two gifts have been sown already.
• This is Aglow's 12th year for our Arabic television series, Diwaniya. It is now available around the world. Recently, a pastor in Pakistan posted on Facebook that Aglow is famous in Pakistan because of Diwaniya. Many are coming to Christ.
• This year marks the 3rd year that the 12 regions in the United States have gone into Washington, DC to pray, making strategic connections on many different levels.
There is a new awakening upon Aglow and it has come with a quickening spirit. New foundations are being laid which will enable us to overcome the roots of our history and continue moving into the fullness and future of God's plan for Aglow. We are no longer a hidden women's group! We are a movement of women and men that is fully on the move.
This year, 2012, also marks Aglow International's 45th year since our birth in 1967. Forty-five represents victory over the stronghold!
The Time of Our Arising
This is the year Aglow will see VICTORY OVER STRONGHOLDS! Stronghold is defined as a place of security or survival. While a place of survival can be necessary during times of danger, the position of survival is not a position for citizens of Heaven. Citizens of Heaven are meant to thrive, not survive!
The number 45 also means maintaining, preserving or protecting the things that matter the most to you. In Joshua 14, we find that Caleb was kept alive, preserved for 45 years until the word God had given him was fulfilled. If the Bible was still being written today, we would find in its pages that Aglow, like Caleb, has been preserved or kept alive for 45 years for the fulfillment of the words God has spoken over us.
It is time for Aglow to arise to the place that God has prepared us for. This is the time of our arising. At the 2011 Aglow Worldwide Conference, Graham Cooke said, 'If we are to be the people who usher in the return of the King, then we must become the fulfillment of all the Father's intention in creation. This is our moment to really shine in the earth. We are a people who have God living on the inside of us. It is time for us to stand up. God is breathing on us. He trusts us. Our voice shall be heard in the nations. We must rise up and occupy the place God has set aside for us.'
I closed the conference with these words: '2011 marked our 38th conference – 38 means slavery. In John 5 there was a man by the pool of Bethesda. He had been there 38 years. He was enslaved within a body that would not function in the way God purposed or intended. He was locked in old mindsets and old ways of thinking. When Jesus appeared and asked him why he was by the pool, the man began to explain. I cannot get into the water. I have been here 38 long years. Jesus told the man, 'Rise and walk!' Something had shifted and now healing was coming in a different way. It was up to the man to believe and receive that word and to step into a new mindset, the new way. I believe that is what God is doing in this ministry. He is coming to us in a different way than perhaps we have experienced Him in the past. He is coming to us in a way that is transforming old mindsets into new ways of thinking.
It is our time. It is our hour. It is our moment. When God called Abraham out of Ur, Abraham received the word and began to walk in it. He did not know where he was going. He simply obeyed. God has told us that this is the time of our arising. We are to arise and walk. All arguments must come down and the glory of God must arise! It is an hour where we can no longer play church. We must arise and let the glory of the Lord be seen upon us!'"
